Service Engineer

Hours: Full-Time / Permanent
Location: Colne, Lancashire
Salary: OTE £28,000 - £35,000

Job Description

We have an opportunity for an experienced mechanic / service engineer to work as part of a specialist team working on various types of professional Groundscare machinery both in the depot and on site across the North West. Due to the nature of the work the successful applicant must be a team player and have excellent mechanical skills.

The successful applicant will be responsible for troubleshooting issues and fixing them with maximum reliability and functionality.

As a Groundscare Mechanic / Engineer your duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Field & workshop based, travelling across Lancashire, Yorkshire & Manchester
  • Deliver excellent customer service & communication
  • Open to work flexible hours at times when required
  • To carry out ‘other’ varied activities as they arise

An ideal Mechanic / Service Engineer will have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Previous experience within the Groundscare / Plant / Agricultural industry is preferred (diagnostics / servicing)
  • Experience using computer diagnostic software
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems including hydrostatic drive systems
  • Knowledge of petrol and diesel engines
  • Knowledge of 12v electrical systems
  • Ability to work to demanding deadlines
  • Ability to work on both own initiative and as part of a team
  • Willingness to observe all safety precautions

Additional skills

  • Clean driving license
  • Trailer license
  • Interpersonal skills – cheerful with a positive ‘can do’ attitude
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new challenges
  • Flexible to changes in working hours and travel when required
  • Ambitious, keen, willing to learn

We have an opportunity for an experienced mechanic / service engineer at our Haydock depot to work as part of a specialist team working on various types of professional Groundscare machinery, supporting hire contracts and key customers in the Manchester & Cheshire area. Due to the nature of the work the successful applicant must be a team player, have excellent mechanical skills and ideally located in the South Manchester / Cheshire area.

The successful applicant will be responsible for troubleshooting issues and fixing them with maximum reliability and functionality.

As a Groundscare Mechanic / Engineer your duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Mainly field based travelling across Lancashire, Cheshire & Manchester
  • Deliver excellent customer service & communication
  • Open to work flexible hours at times when required
  • To carry out ‘other’ varied activities as they arise

Parts Advisor

Hours: 42.5 Hours Monday - Friday
Location: Colne, Lancashire
Salary: Competitive
Closing Date: 04/03/2020

Experience in the horticultural / agricultural or automotive parts and accessory supply business would be an advantage

Working within a small team, the successful applicant’s duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Identify and order parts for customer
  • Identify and order parts for the workshop and sales department
  • Processing parts order on a computerised system
  • To sell parts to customers in person or over the phone
  • To receive and despatch orders
  • Assist with stock control
  • Answering the telephone

We are looking for someone who has the following skills:

  • Team player and willing to help others
  • Interpersonal skills – cheerful with a positive ‘can do’ attitude
  • Ability to prioritise workload
  • Attention to deal
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new challenges
  • Ambitious, keen and willing to learn
  • Excellent MS Office Skills

The position is full time - 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
