BOLTON WANDERERS .... ALL GO ....

BOLTON WANDERERS .... ALL GO ....

As Wanderers fans around the world exchanged gifts and tucked into their Christmas dinner, Richard Norton, Bolton Wanderers Football Club Grounds Manager and his team were hard at work preparing the Reebok for the busy festive schedule.

Richard and the ground staff have recently purchased new machinery from GGM, thanks to funding from the Bolton Wanderers Development Association, to help them through this challenging period of the season. The newly obtained equipment include a Kubota tractor, an Amazone groundkeeper (a tractor mounted flail)  and a Toro CT2140 Ride-On Triple Mower – all replacing equipment purchased over ten years ago.

Richard commented “We acquired it through our preferred machinery dealer Chris Gibson at GGM over in Colne, and we have got ourselves a really good deal.  Chris has put a good package together and hopefully we can continue to do work with them in the future.

It is replacement machinery for equipment that we have already got, which has just got too old.  The tractor we have replaced had actually originally been purchased when we first moved to the new stadium, so we have got a good 14 or 15 years out of it.”

“It will certainly help us a lot as we head through to the New Year and into Spring. We have a lot going on at Lostock this year, I don’t think we will be doing a big renovation, but with the new equipment we have acquired, we will certainly be able to get it thinned out and get it top dressed.  Hopefully as we get into pre-season we will soon see the benefits of the groundkeeper.”
